Close in the Distance

Play.

Educate.

Advocate.

Accessibility, Solidarity, and Collaboration: the words that best capture the altruistic culture of the original virtual communities and that we now use to promote an inclusive digital culture for all.

Association

Close in the Distance is a non-profit association that brings together tutors, trainers, psychologists, and social workers, with the aim of promoting digital skills, gender inclusion, and a culture open to diversity. Alongside its educational and cultural activities, the association places particular emphasis on supporting parenting skills, fostering spaces for dialogue and reflection aimed at mothers, fathers, and caregivers. We work on issues related to digital education, family communication, inclusion, and supporting children through the different stages of development. As committed gamers and supporters of LGBTIQA+ perspectives, we promote a conscious and positive approach to everyday digital life, including within family relationships, through activities that include EduGaming workshops and programs in digital education and virtual inclusion.

Who are we?

LGBTIQA+ perspectives, SOGIESC topics, support for autonomy, parent training, lifelong learning, hands-on and playful education.

Different areas? Not really! This is exactly who we are: trainers, psychologists, therapists, tutors, but also parents who dedicate time and energy to developing accessible training activities, fostering authentic relationships in virtual spaces. We are people committed to education and lifelong learning, as well as to supporting parenting. At the same time, we are gamers and activists who have long fought for LGBTIQA+ rights and the promotion of SOGIESC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics) topics, working to spread education, social initiatives, and more inclusive and accessible learning environments.

Close in the Distance was founded in 2022 around these key ideas, with the aim of giving voice to different perspectives and sensitivities. Our goal? To build a shared space where people can freely express their ideas and, in turn, communicate to others the value of an online community, a connection on the web, a virtual space.
